CLARIAN | SAO PAULO
A story to start, what would be better then to start with the story that gave me goosebumbs and made me decide that I really really wanted to do this project?! Meet Clárian. When I was in São Paulo last October for a different project, I spent the afternoon with this beautiful girl Clárian. She has dravet syndrome. Because of the syndrome she suffered several strokes a day, spent months every year in the hospital, wasn't able to talk, could not sleep and an had an endless list of other problems. Until her parents tried an oil extract of cannabis about two years ago. Today I not only saw her taking the drops, I saw her play, walk, talk, draw, making jokes and highlight of the day, blowing bubbles together. Just like the cannabis flowers, the drops are illegal in Brazil. They are made for her by friends of the family.
